PROFILE - Shelley founded Material Insight with her brother Todd Kuipers in 2002. In 2004 she co-founded early stage investment firm Adventure Capital with her husband Brian Craig. In February 2007, Shelley took a sabbatical from Material Insight to go to Cambrian House and became their president. Shelley came to focus on technology after starting her career in the petroleum sector. She has earned the reputation as a business leader who advises early stage ventures on starting up and scaling their business through financing, talent, practical and scalable operations, product distribution and strategic relationships. In 2001, Shelley co-founded Stormworks Inc, a software development and online marketing company that began as a member of the Launchworks group. Before that, Shelley led recruiting, consulting and support services for 10 years at Merak Projects, a provider of valuation and management software for the petroleum industry. She recruited 60 per cent of their 250-person team, a key asset in the valuation that led to its acquisition by Schlumberger in 1999.
